One path to God is through rituals. Start here and participate in a Lenten ritual like Ash Wednesday or Good Friday worship, or try committing to the ritual of doing something special during Lent. Here are some ideas that fall within the different spiritual paths we will be learning about between now and Easter.
Make your promises to God here:

Turn off speakers and screens for a set period of time each day.
Fast – skip a meal once a week, refrain from eating for one day, cut out a specific food until Easter, or abstain from alcohol during Lent.

Get outside in God’s creation and meditate.
Make a special trip to a natural space that inspires me.
Pray as I tend to plants or pets.

Attend worship every Sunday during Lent.
Attend Good Friday Service on April 10 at 7 pm.
Listen to or play music that draws me nearer to God.

Go out of my way to talk to or visit someone who is lonely or in pain.

__ This Lent, I will travel the pathway of the Senses:
Cook a favorite meal prayerfully, taking in the smells and tastes as a gift.
Google images of artistic representations of Bible stories or concepts and choose favorites to contemplate.
Carry a nail in my pocket during Lent as a reminder to pray.
_ This Lent, I will travel the pathway of Activism:
Learn more about a cause I care about.
Give funds or time to an organization doing important work.
Engage in walking prayer by praying for justice in a place such as my neighborhood, school, or government building.

Read through one gospel or other book or the Bible slowly and carefully, listening for what God will say to me.
Plan a one-day retreat.
